Hans Strohm

Hans Strohm (born June 18, 1908 in Gunzenhausen , † March 2, 1998 in Vienna ) was a German classical philologist .

Life

After studying classical philology in Munich he was in 1933 with the dissertation Studies on the development of Aristotelian Meteorology doctorate . Although he was able to complete his habilitation in 1940, he initially did not receive a lectureship due to his political views and then had no more opportunity because of the military service he had to do. It was not until 1948 that he became a private lecturer in Munich and then senior director and director of the Fridericianum grammar school in Erlangen . In 1956 he finally got a position as an adjunct professor in Munich and in the same year as an adjunct professor in Erlangen . In 1974 he accepted a call from the University of Vienna as full professor and chair holder, and in 1976 he retired .
