Hans Täger (born October 28, 1934 ) is a former German table tennis player from the GDR. He played 34 international matches.

Career

Täger first played in the Lok Stendal club and moved to SC Motor Berlin in 1955 , with whose men's team he was East German champion in 1956 and 1957. Then he joined the construction club in Magdeburg . At the GDR championships he reached the final three times: in 1956 in doubles with Günter Matthias and in mixed with Monika Wiskandt and in 1963 in doubles with Hans-Jürgen Fromm .

In 1958 he was ranked fourth in the GDR rankings.

In 1959 Täger was nominated for the world championship in Dortmund. He was eliminated from the singles in the first round against Herbert Gomolla . In doubles with Helmut Hanschmann , he won against the West German Lothar Stegmann / Rolf Rätsch and then lost to Ladislav Štípek / Ludvík Vyhnanovský (CSSR). With the GDR team he came in seventeenth.

He later played for the Helmstedter SV club, which he left in 2003 for SV Eintracht Magdeburg-Diesdorf.

Private

Täger is a carpenter by profession.
