Harald Lucht

Harald Lucht (born November 7, 1935 in Stettin ; † February 18, 2020 in Bremen ) was a German geodesist and former Senate Councilor of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . He was appointed honorary professor by the University of Bremen .

Life

Harald Lucht studied geodesy at the State Building School Oldenburg and the Technical University of Hanover . After completing his technical traineeship , the Technical University of Hanover earned him a doctorate in engineering. The topic of the dissertation was the correlation in precision leveling . From 1973 to 1999 Lucht was director of the cadastral and surveying administration of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and head of the business operations cadastre and surveying Bremen .

For many years, Harald Lucht helped shape the development of official surveying in Germany. For many years he was a member of the working group of the surveying administrations of the federal states of the Federal Republic of Germany , which he chaired in 1983 and 1984. From 1985 to 1998 he was chairman of the municipal surveying and property management commission of the German Association of Cities and a permanent guest of the German Geodetic Commission . In 1989 the University of Bremen appointed him honorary professor.

In addition to numerous specialist publications, in particular on the automation of the real estate cadastre and property valuation , Harald Lucht regularly recalls important geodesists and their achievements (e.g. Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel , Johann Friedrich Benzenberg ) as well as important events for the development of surveying (including 150 Years cadastre and surveying in Bremen 1835–1985 ). Harald Lucht contributed this interest in historical topics for 27 years as honorary president of the support group of the Museum of Surveying Technology.

On the initiative of Harald Lucht, the course of the Balge , a former tributary of the Weser , was made visible in several places in Bremen's old town by paving and bronze plaques.
