Hartmut Krech

Hartmut "Hardy" Krech (* 1966 in Bonn ) is a German songwriter , composer and producer .

Krech grew up in Flensburg as the son of a teacher and an architect, where he graduated from high school and still lives with his wife and son today.

He started playing the trumpet in childhood, winning his first prize at the age of 9. He later took piano and keyboard lessons and at the age of 16 he founded his own band, for which he wrote, arranged and later also produced most of the songs. At the end of the 1990s he finished his architecture studies . He left his band, signed his first exclusive author contract with Warner Chappell and founded Elephant Music GmbH with his partner Mark Nissen , in order to work exclusively as an author and producer from then on. In 2000 he founded his own edition with Nissen - co-publisher with Sony ATV since 2007 - Annett Lorenzen-Krech completed the team.

His first hit as a writer and producer in 1999 The Rigga Ding Dong Song of Passion Fruit . The single won the gold record , landed at number 9 in the German single charts , reached the top ten in 14 other countries and top 1 in the charts in Mexico. Other singles and albums followed as a composer, lyricist and producer, some of which were placed in the Top 10 of the Media Control Charts and on Top 1 of the Charts. Krech received various gold and platinum awards. Since 1999 there have been numerous Echo nominations and awards for the songs he has written and produced, both for the performing artist and for himself as a producer.

In 2019 he was musical director of a recorded MTV Unplugged concert by Santiano .

Krech's repertoire as an author and producer ranges from singer-songwriter to dance to hits, but the focus is on rock and pop. He has written for artists such as Highland , DJ Ötzi , Hot Banditoz , Kissin 'Dynamite , Sven van Thom , the Puhdys , Velile & Safri Duo , Faun , Santiano , Oonagh , Beyond the Black , Versengold and Sarah Jane Scott .
