The Thirty Years' War , which began in 1618 and the plague in 1631, only two of the Eichendorff noble family survived on Zerbow : Rittmeister Jakob and his nephew Hartwig Erdmann, one of the four sons of Burchard von Eichendorff. Hartwig Erdmann moved to his uncle in Upper Silesia , first serving as an ensign in the regiment of Moritz August von Rochow and then for three and a half years in the regiment of Colonel Johann Christoph Ranfft von Wiesenthal. After the end of the Thirty Years War he left the Ranff Regiment on June 12, 1649 in Klosterneuburg . In 1650 he traveled to Zerbow, settled the father's estate and sold the goods there.

When Jakob von Eichendorff died childless in Krawarn on January 23, 1667, his nephew Hartwig Erdmann became the sole heir to the Moravian possessions. In January 1655 he bought the Sedlnitz estate . After converting to the Catholic denomination, Hartwig Erdmann received the title of baron in Vienna in 1679 and later became the prince-bishop's council in Moravia.

At that time, the Princes of Liechtenstein had possessions in Silesia, Moravia and Bohemia . Prince Karl Eusebius von Liechtenstein had been the supreme sovereign of Jägerndorf and Troppau since 1632 , where Jakob and his nephew Hartwig Erdmann von Eichendorff had their property. In 1682, Hartwig Erdmann Freiherr von Eichendorff was appointed governor of the principality of Jägerndorf .

Hartwig Erdmann's first marriage (1654–1680) was married to Sidonie Angelika Elisabeth Freiin von Larisch auf Ellguth (1630–1680) and the second to Anna Helene Freiin von Praschma . His eighth generation descendants were the poet lawyers Wilhelm and Joseph von Eichendorff and their sister Luise von Eichendorff .
