from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hasper sports club v. 1911/12 (HSV) was a sports club from the Hagen district of Haspe , which existed from 1956 to 1998. The sports of soccer, handball, basketball, boxing, fencing, athletics and table tennis were practiced at HSV.

history

The Hasper Sportverein was founded on July 23, 1956 through a merger of the previously independent clubs FC Harkorten from 1911, FC Union from 1912 and Box-Sport-Club from 1949. In November of the same year, the fencing, handball, athletics and table tennis departments of the TGS Friesen-1860 Haspe joined the HSV.

On January 24, 1998, Hasper SV, who was in debt to around three million marks, submitted a settlement application to the Hagen district court after the Sparkasse Hagen had terminated existing loan agreements. On March 6, 1998, the members of the HSV decided to finally dissolve the traditional club.

Departments

Soccer

Since FC Harkorten from 1911 and FC Union from 1912 were purely football clubs, football quickly enjoyed a great deal of attention within HSV. Both clubs were known nationwide, FC Union played in the Westphalia district class in the 1930s, which was then the second highest division below the Gauliga . Opponent was u. a. Borussia Dortmund . The FC Harkorten from 1911 was particularly known for its good youth work, the A-Juniors were only defeated in 1951 in the final of the Westphalian championship of SG Eintracht Gelsenkirchen .

The HSV spent a total of 17 seasons in the highest Westphalian amateur class ( Verbandsliga Westfalen , from 1958 to 1967 and from 1973 to 1976) and was able to achieve its best placement in the 1964/65 season with a 3rd place behind VfL Bochum and Lüner SV .

With Klaus Germann, HSV even posted a player for the DFB . Germann took part in the 1961 UEFA youth tournament in Portugal. The squad that reached third place included a. also Sepp Maier , Wolfgang Overath and Reinhard Libuda .

In 1994 the footballers were promoted to the Westphalian league , which was the fourth highest division at the time. The HSV was always represented in the top group of the league and played in the 1995/96 and 1996/97 seasons for promotion to the regional league. In the 1990s, HSV was also able to welcome FC Everton , Borussia Dortmund and FK Dinamo Minsk to friendly games in Hagen.

After the entire club was dissolved in 1998 due to financial difficulties, the footballers continued the game as Hasper SV Fußball eV .

Handball

After the handball players were able to celebrate national successes as TGS Friesen-1860 (the women became Westphalian field handball champions five times; the men reached the Westphalian league, the highest German division) in 1950, they were also able to set sporting highlights under the umbrella of the HSV. In 1957, 1958, 1960, 1964 and 1965 the women of the HSV became Westphalian field handball champions and in 1959 Westphalian indoor handball champions. HSV players were appointed to the German national team. In 1995 the HSV women were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, from which they were withdrawn in 2001 for financial reasons.

After the entire club was dissolved in 1998 due to financial difficulties, the handball players continued the game as Hasper SV Handball eV. In 2000, HSV entered into a syndicate with the handball department of TSV Jahn Westerbauer v. 1896 and continued gaming operations as HSG Haspe / Westerbauer. In the meantime, the handball players of TSV Jahn Westerbauer are independently on the hunt for goals again.

basketball

The basketball department was founded in October 1962. In 1975 the basketball players from VfL Hagen joined HSV and thus helped the club to create a league team, which shortly afterwards even celebrated promotion to the regional league . The HSV basketball players joined the basketball team consisting of Deutsche Eiche Kückelhausen and TSV Fichte Hagen , or BG Hagen for short , in the early 1980s . As BG Hagen, the team gave brief guest appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1986/87 seasons, from 1988 to 1990, 1993/94, and 1998/99 . HSV left the syndicate in the course of the dissolution of the entire club.

Boxing

The Boxing Sport Club from 1949 brought a boxing department that was already successful regionally and nationally into the HSV in 1956. Hans Kalbfell , who became four times Westphalian heavyweight champion as an amateur and switched to the professional camp in 1954 , achieved particular fame . As a professional, Kalbfell won the German championship title twice and also fought twice (unsuccessfully) for the European championship title. The HSV boxing squad experienced its heyday in the 1950s, in particular: Günter Freckmann (1957) and Reinhold Hübner (1959, 1960) among the seniors and Herbert Drobnitza (1954, 1958) and Hans-Günter Katt (1960) among the Juniors were able to win the South Westphalia Championship. Walter Möbus was 1959 in the Junior Westphalia Champion and then third in the German Junior Championship; Jürgen Schröder won the German Junior Bantamweight Championship in 1958. In 1987 HSV self-grown Jürgen Leismann became South Westphalia and Westphalia champion in the junior division and won bronze in the German junior championship.

In addition to the many individual triumphs, the Hasper SV team also knew how to inspire in the 1950s when they played against well-known teams such as Empor Brandenburg , EB Dubois Essen, Bayer Leverkusen or Hamborn 07 . The comparisons with local rivals SSV Hagen were particularly popular with the audience.

The boxers broke away from the HSV association on October 21, 1997 and founded the Box-Sport-Club Haspe from 49/97, which is still actively involved in boxing to this day.

fencing

The department brought in by TGS Friesen-1860 was founded on April 30, 1932 in what was then Hasper Turnverein von 1860. The HSV fencing department became Westphalian team champions with the saber in 1958 and 1960 . Günter Stratmann was also able to become Westphalian champion in 1959 and 1960 with the saber.

The fencers also broke away from the major club HSV in 1997 and continued the competition as Hasper Fecht-Club 1932/97 e. V. continued.

athletics

The department, which was also brought in by TGS Friesen-1860, was closed in 1974 due to a decline in membership. In the HSV dress, Karl Hoffmann was German youth champion in discus throwing in 1961 , in 1962 he set a new German youth record in discus throwing with 53.01 meters and won silver at the German youth championships in shot put .

Table tennis

The table tennis department was also brought into the HSV by the TGS Friesen-1860. In 1984 the table tennis department of HSV merged with that of TSV Berge-Westerbauer to form the Haspe-Westerbauer table tennis community (TTG). In 2008 the table tennis family was expanded again when TTG and the table tennis department of Post SV Hagen formed the TTC Hagen . The TTC played in the 1st Bundesliga from 2013 to 2016 before they had to withdraw to the top division for financial reasons.
