In cooperation with the family zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, two projects arose: A new building at the historic castle, the new company headquarters of Heinrich + Steinhardt, and parts of the redesign of the park. For the latter, the "Red Bridge" in the Sayn landscape garden was revived in the fall of 2014, after having been erected only temporarily over decades after its destruction. A wide was in each case at the ends of the tripartite balustrade pedestal of fired bricks in the realm format added which with stone slabs from basalt were covered. In the middle of the bridge there are two small pillars made of clinker brick with a flat basalt cover. The sides of the bridge consist of three corten steel plates with the decoupled motif of a butterfly drawing. At the beginning of 2011, together with the Sayn-Wittgenstein house, the idea of building an office building directly across from Sayn Castle was born. The architectural goal was to create an ensemble at the entrance to Alt-Sayn that combines the historical context with modern elements. For this purpose, a transparent building was conceived through a glass facade, which should not distract from the historical importance of the castle. Style elements of the listed architecture of the palace, especially the palace chapel built by the architect Hermann Nebel , were incorporated into the design. Architectural historical recourse was made through the stylistic reference to neo-Gothic structural elements in terms of material selection and design. In addition to the actual building, the outdoor facilities also make a contribution to the urban development by creating a square with a water-bound gravel ceiling and a green area with public parking spaces opposite the castle tower.

General renovation of Eltz Castle

In 2009 Karl Graf zu Eltz commissioned Heinrich + Steinhardt as the leading architect for the general renovation of Eltz Castle . Particularly noteworthy is the renovation of the roof landscape, which was completed in 2012. In Altdeutscher coverage executed were divided 1,800 m² new to be covered roof area in over 60 different sections, towers and dormers calculated. Each section covers an average of around 30 m² and is inclined at around 60 °. A total of 40 tons of slate with stone heights between 16 and 30 cm were distributed on the 28 mm thick tongue and groove formwork made of spruce wood. With the old German cover, the stone heights vary: from the eaves to the ridge, the slates are getting smaller and smaller. Depending on the size of the roof, up to eight different stone heights were placed within one area.

Conversion of the Sayner hut

The worldwide unique casting hall of the Sayner Hütte was completed in 1830 as a load-bearing structure made of prefabricated iron castings. The renovation by Heinrich + Steinhardt began in 2016 and is to be completed in spring 2017. The building was authentically dismantled and its original function reinterpreted in a modern way: For this purpose, the spiral staircase and the concrete floors are removed. Instead of the blast furnace shaft, a large tube will be placed on which various levels of visitors will be placed. The outer skin of the blast furnace is replaced by a transparent membrane, revealing the inside of the casting hall. To the left and right of the shaft there is a lift and staircase. A platform is also being built from which the visitor can look into the water wheel chambers. In addition to the foundry hall, the blast furnace, the industrial building and the arcade building are also being rebuilt.

Chamber of Crafts Koblenz

On behalf of the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts, two buildings that shape the cityscape were built: the competence center for design, production and communication and the center for nutrition and health, which are used for training. The Center for Nutrition and Health was designed as a cubic structure. Plastic deformations, hole patterns and irregular window openings break with the geometric rigor and liven up the ensemble. Contrasts were also set with the selection of materials: Light gray brick brickwork and sharp-edged, partly colored window elements from aluminum and glass are in farblicher voltage to each other. By choosing the material of the Westerwald clay from the chamber district, the connecting factor to the region should be created. The competence center for design, production and communication accommodates 172 theory and 24 workshop spaces on 850 m². The building was also kept cubic in the form of an orthogonal trapezoid . In the choice of materials for the facade design, glass and aluminum dominate.

University of WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management

Designed as a lecture hall and seminar building for the WHU on a floor space of 2500 square meters, it offers students lecture halls, seminar rooms, a cafeteria and a student lounge. It is also the first university building of the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, which was combined from the core of an old building with a new one. The construction costs amounted to 8 million euros, half of which was borne by the WHU foundation and half by the alumni organization. The commissioning took place in the winter semester 2016/2017. In addition to this building, other buildings were built on Heerstrasse and Hellenstrasse on behalf of WHU. On the occasion of the extensive expansion of WHU, the urban center was also renovated by Heinrich + Steinhardt.
