Heinrich Krause

Heinrich Krause (born June 9, 1885 in Rodaun , † July 30, 1983 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter from the interwar period .

Life

Heinrich Krause received his training at the Vienna Academy with Professors Julius Victor Berger and Christian Griepenkerl , in 1903 with Kasimir Pochwalski and finally with Albin Egger-Lienz , who had a lasting influence on him. In 1905 he took part in the competition for advertising drafts for joint advertising by Ludwig Stollwerck and Otto Henkell . His design was recommended by the judges for purchase for 200 marks. He then spent a year in Italy with his Rome Prize . From 1914 to 1937 he was a member of the Vienna Secession . From 1937 he became a member, later an honorary member, of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .

His works have been exhibited in Rome , Düsseldorf , Saarbrücken , Trieste , Genoa and Bucharest . In Austria he exhibited in the Secession and in the Vienna Künstlerhaus. Works by Krause are in the possession of the Austrian Gallery in Belvedere Palace , the Vienna Museum , the Albertina , the Museum of Military History and various collections at home and abroad.

Heinrich Krause was buried at the Hütteldorfer Friedhof .
