Heinz-Günther Lehmann

Heinz-Günther Lehmann (born March 6, 1923 in Zeitz ; † June 24, 2006 in Göppingen ) was a German swimmer .

Heinz-Günther Lehmann, known as "Hase" Lehmann, won the European title in the 1500 meter freestyle and the bronze medal in the 400 meter freestyle in Vienna in 1950 . For his success he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by the then Federal President Theodor Heuss as one of the first athletes . He was also a participant in the Helsinki Olympics in 1952 .

With 35 German individual championships, he was one of the most successful German freestyle swimmers. He won the following singles titles:

  • over 100 m freestyle: 1947
  • over 200 m freestyle: 1943, 1947, 1948, 1950 to 1953
  • over 400 m freestyle: 1942, 1943, 1947 to 1954
  • over 1500 m freestyle: 1942, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1953, 1954

He started for SV Zeitz until 1943 , from 1947 to 1950 for MTV Braunschweig and then for ASV 06 Aachen .
