Heinz Dieter Paul

Heinz Dieter Paul (born September 3, 1943 in Braunau , Sudetenland ) is a German composer and conductor .

After his expulsion he grew up in Aalen in Baden-Württemberg. At the age of 8 he got his first flute, piano and organ lessons. During his high school years he became an organist and choir director. After graduating from high school, he first joined the German Armed Forces in April 1964. The Gebirgsjägerbrigade 23 in Bad Reichenhall was his first stop.

In 1966 he began his studies at the State Academy of Music in Karlsruhe in the subjects piano , conducting and music theory . In 1969 and 1970 he was a répétiteur at the Karlsruhe Opera. In 1970 he passed the state examination as Kapellmeister and private music teacher for piano.

In 1970 he joined the German Armed Forces again, now as deputy conductor of the 1st Music Corps in Hanover , followed by equivalent tasks in Hamburg and Düsseldorf . From 1972 to 1975 he was the second music officer in the staff music corps (today the music corps of the Bundeswehr ) of the Bundeswehr in Bonn . From 1975 to 1978 he was Kapellmeister of Musikkorps 9 in Stuttgart . The next station was Army Music Corps 8 of the 1st Mountain Division in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . On April 1, 1987, he took over the musical direction of the staff music corps of the German Armed Forces (now the German Armed Forces Music Corps) in Siegburg , with whom he traveled to Japan in 1988 and took part in the military music festival in Tokyo and Osaka . In 1993 he left the staff music corps to work as a lecturer at the music academy in Munich.
