Heinz Zimmermann (cyclist)

Heinz Zimmermann is a former German cyclist who mainly competed in cross-country races.

Zimmermann had been a member of SC Wissenschaft Leipzig (later DHfK Leipzig) since 1955 . He started his career at BSG Motor Zittau . In 1956 he was third on the GDR tour , which he did several times.

In 1958 he won the title of GDR cross-country championship in Erfurt . He was then nominated to participate in the UCI World Championships in Limoges and finished 29th in the title race.

After the end of his active cycling career , Zimmermann worked as a warehouse manager at VEB Herrenmode Seifhenners in Dresden .
