Heinzpeter Moecke

Heinzpeter Moecke (born August 15, 1952 in Berlin ; † November 26, 2015 in Hamburg ) was a German emergency doctor, clinic manager and publicist.

Life

Moecke grew up as the youngest of four children in Berlin and Bonn . In 1972 he graduated from high school in Bonn-Tannenbusch. After graduating from high school, Moecke went through medical training and training as a trainer at the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund in Hamburg and Cologne from 1973 to 1975 . From 1974 to 1980 he studied medicine at the Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg . In addition to the German state examination, Moecke also passed the American medical state examination ( ECFMG ) in 1980 . In 1981 he received his doctorate in Hamburg. In 1984 he also passed another American Medical Graduate Examination in the Medical Sciences (FMGEMS ). Moecke had been a member of the SPD since 1971 .

Moecke was married and had two children.

Journalism

Moecke was the author of several books, including the practical handbook Quality and Risk Management in Rescue Services : Planning, Implementation, Certification and The ZNA Book: Concepts, Methods and Practice of the Central Emergency Room . For the medical standard reference work Pschyrembel Clinical Dictionary , Moecke worked continuously as a specialist author for anesthesiology , intensive care medicine , emergency medicine and disaster medicine from issue 255 (1986) to last (issue 265/2014) . In addition, Moecke was the editor of the reference works Pschyrembel Cardiology and Pschyrembel Anesthesiology .

The focus of his work, which also includes several hundred publications, was the air transport of patients, organization of the rescue system, special questions in emergency response, psychiatry in rescue medicine, the role of the chief emergency doctor, terrorist attacks and emergency medicine, and quality assurance in the rescue service.

Moecke was one of the editors of the German-language publications of the American Heart Association. As such, he also translated works by the American Heart Association into German.
