Hans-Jürgen Henry Nielebock (born July 11, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German architect , musician , filmmaker , racing driver and author .

Life

In the 1960s, Nielebock founded various bands with different musicians. The Umbrella Jazz Band became known. Then later the Magics, a rock and roll band. The band's singer was Drafi Deutscher , with whom the band recorded numerous titles, the most famous of which is marble, stone and iron breaks .

From 1972 to 1977 Henry Nielebock was a research assistant at the TU Berlin near Grötzebach. He then founded the architecture firm Nielebock und Partner at Fasanenstrasse 13, which implemented buildings in the 1980s and 1990s, primarily in Berlin. From 1985 he also worked as a film architect and later, after founding the film company "Krümelfilm", as a producer. From 1994 he also became known as a motor sportsman and took part in car races in Europe until a serious accident in 2010 slowed his motorsport activities. Henry Nielebock also published several books on architecture.

After completing an apprenticeship as a carpenter , Nielebock completed his structural engineering studies at the Berlin Engineering Academy in 1965. Then worked as an architect for the American construction department in Berlin in the area of ​​planning and realizing the radar station on the Teufelsberg . He later became an employee of the Schreck / Bassenge / Puhan-Schulz architectural group. The area of ​​responsibility was the implementation of architectural competitions and the realization of the German School in Washington . This was followed by another degree (Dipl.-Ing.) At the TU Berlin. The topic of the diploma thesis was: Integration of public educational institutions into the urban structure, "Focus on social buildings" . Until 1977 he worked as a scientific assistant in the teaching area "Introduction to Design and Building Construction" at Grötzebach. In 1978 he founded his own architectural office, from 1979 an office community with Siegfried "Siggi" Hein, later with Nielebock & Partner . Nielebock held visiting professorships in Berlin and Dortmund, projects were implemented, mainly in residential construction, kindergartens and office buildings in Berlin and Potsdam, as well as participation in competitions with awards and prizes. In 1994 he wrote his dissertation with Hans-Joachim Aminde with the title: The change in the criteria for the layout and use of city squares, shown using the example of the city of Berlin (the book on this was later published: Berlin and its squares ).
