Herb Hausen , according 's Historical Gazetteer for Kurhessen 1974 identical to Herboldessen , was a settlement in today's district of Istha , a district of northern Hesse City Wolfhagen in the district of Kassel . The settlement was first mentioned in 1081 when the archbishop of Mainz Siegfried I. the Hasungen Abbey confirmed the possession of goods including "Heribrahteshusun", but was already in 1334 as a desolate designated village and in 1515 the last time mentioned.

Geographical location

The place was located 1.7 km south-southeast of Istha, about the same distance north of Balhorn and 3 km west of Martin Hagen at 339  m altitude in the field Mark of Istha to the flowing of Balhorn the south Spole-stream in the hallway Herbe Hausen or Herbsthausen or Herbertshausen meadows. The federal highway 450 ( Fritzlar- Wolfhagen) passes 500 m to the west, the state road L 3215 coming from Martinhagen in the east and merging with the B 450 runs 400 m south of the desert.

Historical forms of names

The place name appears in historical documents and records in a frequently changed form, which occasionally gave rise to misinterpretations. B. in the Mainz document book from 1932, where when "Heribrahteshusun" is mentioned in 1081 reference is made to Herbsen . Then the following variations can be found: “Herbratheshusen” (1209), “Herbracteshusen” (1231), “Herbrachteshusen” (1274), “Herbrachteshusen” (1310), “Herbrachtishusen” (1334), “Herbrattyeshusen” (1359), “Herboldessen” "(1402)," Herbeshusen "(1435)," Herboldeshusen "(1450)," Herboldshusen "(1461)," Herbrachteshusen "(1475)," Herweshusen "(1510)," Herbeshusen "and" Herweshusen "(1515) .

history

In addition to Hasungen Monastery, no later than 1231, when Pope Gregory IX. This was confirmed by the monastery Werbe real estate in Herbshausen, known as the "villa", and the St. Petri-Stift in Fritzlar had a tenth income in the village from at least 1209 to 1310 .

When Landgrave Heinrich II of Hesse exchanged his income in "Herbrachtishusen" for income from Waldau with the Hasungen monastery in 1334 , the village was already desolate. In 1389 the city of Wolfhagen sold goods to “Herbrachteshusen” and a quarter of the Herbershausen farm. Long after the settlement was abandoned, the income registers of the Fritzlarer Stifts (1435, 1450, 1475) and the Hasunger Klosters (1515) showed tithes and valid income from the Feldmark there, and in 1461 a farm in "Herboldhausen" was named. Yet in 1475 the Hasungen Abbey held a ungebotenes thing to "Herbiszhuszen" to the resident in Istha Märker were summoned.
