Heribert Hupka

Heribert Hupka (born June 28, 1953 in Augsburg ) is a retired German Brigadier General . D. Most recently he was head of the German liaison command at the United States Central Command in Tampa / USA .

Military career

Training and first uses

Hupka joined the Bundeswehr in July 1975 with Panzerartilleriebataillon 55 in Homberg (Efze) . After training as an officer in the artillery , promotion to lieutenant in 1977 and studying business administration at a university of the German Armed Forces, he worked in the artillery from 1980, including posts as platoon leader in field artillery battalion 21 in Schwalmstadt and battery chief in tank artillery battalion 355 in Wildflecken . As a staff officer, Hupka specialized in human resources. Promoted to major , he was deployed in 1991 as S3 staff officer and deputy battalion commander of the 45 Panzer Artillery Battalion in Göttingen. In 1992 he held a post as a consultant in the personnel department of the command staff of the army . As a lieutenant colonel , he was in 1993 commander of the 65 armored artillery battalion in Arolsen .

In 1996 he was employed in the BMVg as a consultant in the personnel department and in 1997 as a department head in the personnel office of the Bundeswehr . In 1998 Hupka was head of the staff group at the JHQ Center in Heidelberg . In 2002 he was employed as the deputy brigade commander of the 38 Panzer Grenadier Brigade in Weißenfels . In 2003, Hupka was again employed in the ministry as head of the HR, social and central affairs department and HR marketing. In 2006, he became the deputy head of department in the Armed Forces Staff , Department I, which is responsible for personnel.

Since 2008 Hupka was general of the artillery and commander of the artillery school . He was then head of the German liaison command at the United States Central Command in Tampa / USA . On June 30, 2015, he retired from active service in the Bundeswehr.
