Hermann Hussong (born September 20, 1881 in Blieskastel ; † September 16, 1960 in Heidelberg ) was a German architect and urban planner who worked primarily in Kaiserslautern and Heidelberg. From 1909 to 1933 he worked in the Kaiserslautern City Planning Department. He worked as an architect and town planner and has shaped the Kaiserslautern cityscape to this day with his numerous high-quality buildings.

After graduating from high school in Zweibrücken in 1900 , he began studying at the Technical University of Munich , graduating in 1905 with honors as a graduate engineer and government building manager. He returned to the Palatinate and worked on the new building of the sanatorium and nursing home in Homburg . In 1908 he was appointed to the Landbauamt Bamberg , where he designed the state basket weaving workshop in Lichtenfels and two canons' houses .

In 1909, Hussong joined the Kaiserslautern services as a town planning officer with responsibility for town planning and building construction . There he designed the forest cemetery in 1912, which became the model for similar facilities in Germany. In 1920 he was appointed senior building director. Until his forced retirement in 1933, he designed numerous new buildings in Kaiserslautern, the style of which ranges from expressionistically alienated baroque architecture to functionalism . Examples are the residential complex in Fischerstraße (1919 ff.), The “Colorful Quarter” in Königstraße / Marienstraße (1924–1925) and the rotunda (1928).
