Karl Albert Konstans Hermann von Doetinchem de Rande (born October 6, 1866 in Endruhnen, Pillkallen district , † March 18, 1932 in Schwerin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He came from a family originally resident in the town of Doetinchem in Gelderland and was the son of the Prussian Major General Robert von Doetinchem de Rande (1829-1896) and his wife Stephanie, née Zander (1842-1925).

Military career

Doetinchem joined the 3rd Guards Regiment on foot of the Prussian Army on February 5, 1885 as an ensign . There he was on 12 January 1886, for the second lieutenant promoted and served on 22 May 1889 to 19 September 1892 as the Adjutant of the Fusilier - battalion . Doetinchem then graduated from the War Academy . In April 1896 he was assigned to serve with the Great General Staff , where he was transferred to captain on June 15, 1898 .

Doetinchem was a lieutenant colonel on the staff of the 5th Westphalian Infantry Regiment No. 53 when the First World War broke out . On November 25, 1914 he was appointed commander of the 4th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 72 and in this position was promoted to colonel on November 1, 1916 . Most recently, he commanded the 56th Infantry Brigade and, after the war, the under ceremony character adopted as a major general in 1919 from active military service.

As a pensioner he lived in Schwerin. He was an honorary knight of the Order of St. John .

family

Doetinchem married her first marriage on October 6, 1892 in Alvensleben (district of Bebertal ) Anna Schröder (born January 5, 1872 in Mulmke ; † October 7, 1916 in Alvensleben), the daughter of the Prussian district council and domain tenant Friedrich Schröder in Alvensleben and the Ida from Doetinchem de Rande. From this marriage came their son Clemens (* 1893), who later owned the Frauenmark estate in Mecklenburg. In his second marriage on November 11, 1919 in Schwerin, he married Sophie Marquardt, who was widowed from his first marriage (born June 25, 1868 in Hanover ; † April 25, 1949 in Schwerin). This marriage was childless.
