Heroltovice (German Herlsdorf ) is a district of the municipality of Město Libavá in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers west of Město Libavá.

Heroltovice extends in the valley of the Heroltovický creek in the Oder Mountains . In the north rises the Kamenný kopec (636 m), northeast the Chlum (705 m), in the east the Šibeniční vrch ( Galgenberg , 592 m), south the Bělá (620 m), in the southwest the Strážiště ( Wachberg , 639 m) , west of the Dvorský Kopec (606 m) and in the northwest of the Domašovský Kopec (590 m).

Neighboring towns are Nová Véska, Stará Libavá and Norberčany in the north, Trhavice in the north-east, the Stará Voda desert in the east, Město Libavá and Dřemovice in the southeast, the Smilov desert in the south, the Bělá desert in the southwest, Domašov nad Bystřicí in the west and Černý Kystřicí in the west and Sedm Dvorů in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Heroltsdorf , which belongs to the possessions of the Diocese of Olomouc , was made on January 26, 1364 together with other villages from the near and far area in a document on the collection of interest to maintain the in December 1363 by Margrave Johann Heinrich to the City of Olomouc sold March Bridge under the Olomouc Castle. Heroltsdorf had to pay 10 groschen and was thus larger than Domašov nad Bystřicí , whose interest was set at nine groschen. Jívová had to pay the highest amount with 18 groschen . It is assumed that, since the establishment of the Vogtei Liebau in 1358 , Heroltsdorf belonged to the seven - not named - villages that had to pay court pennies to the Vogt. In the Liebau city privilege of 1504 Herdelsdorf was listed as one of the six villages under the jurisdiction of the Liebau Vogtei, along with Altwasser , Schmeil , Nuremberg , Kriegsdorf and Drömsdorf . From 1581 the place was referred to as Herlsdorf , 1676 as Hendelsdorf , from 1718 as Herdelsdorf , 1720 as Hartlsdorf and 1771 as Herlsdorfium . The registers have been kept in the city ​​of Liebau since 1659 . The Chapel of St. Isidore was consecrated in 1730. Schooling in Herlsdorf began in 1784, and a new schoolhouse was built in 1802. In 1834 Herlsdorf consisted of 37 houses and had 256 inhabitants. The inhabitants lived from the breeding of sheep and cattle as well as the flax spinning. There was also a windmill. After the founding of the Hombok ironworks , a small part of the residents earned their living there through wage labor. The Kaiserstraße ran through Herlsdorf from Sternberg to the town of Liebau. Until the middle of the 19th century, Herlsdorf was always subject to the Olomouc prince-archbishop's chamber estate Liebau.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Herlsdorf / Herdovice 1850 a municipality in the district administration Moravian white churches and the judicial district town Liebau. In 1855 Herlsdorf was assigned to the Stadt Liebau district, from 1868 the village belonged to the Sternberg district and from 1909 to the Bärn district . The Czech place name Heroltovice was introduced in 1872, and the names Herlotovice (1885), Herltovice (1869, 1893) and Heroltice (1910) were also used at times . The loan office was set up in 1899. In 1921 the community had 248 inhabitants, of which 236 were Germans and twelve Czechs. In the same year, the electricity cooperative for Herlsdorf and Seibersdorf was formed. In 1930, 250 people lived in the 43 houses in the village. After the Munich Agreement , Herlsdorf was added to the German Reich in 1938 and until 1945 belonged to the district of Bärn and the judicial district of the city of Liebau. In 1939 228 people lived in Herlsdorf . After the end of the Second World War, the village came back to Czechoslovakia and was again assigned to the Okres Moravský Beroun and the judicial district of Olomouc. The German residents were expelled. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Šternberk District and Judicial District. In 1950 Heroltovice was incorporated into the Libavá military training area . The village was dissolved and then demolished.

Heroltovice was repopulated in 1967. In place of the former rural village, a residential block settlement was built, which was attached to Město Libavá as a district. In 1991 there were 142 people in Heroltovice. The 2001 census counted 20 houses and 126 residents. Since the beginning of 2003 Heroltovice has been part of the Libavá military area.

In the course of the downsizing of the military training areas, Heroltovice left the military administration and has been part of the Město Libavá municipality since January 2016 .
