The Hertener Schlosswald nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the city of Herten in the Recklinghausen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 117 hectare area was placed under nature protection in 2008 under the key number RE-050 . It extends in the core city of Herten south of the Sankt Elisabeth Hospital. Far north-west passes the national road L 622, L 638, the east and south of the A 2 .
