The Bertlich nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the city of Herten in the Recklinghausen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 6.5 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection under the key number RE-055 in 2012 , extends on the northwestern outskirts of Bertlich . The state road L 630 runs to the east and the Hasseler Mühlenbach flows on the southern edge of the area .
