In his father's business in Bremen or as a traveling foundry, Klinghe was one of the leading picture and ore casters in northern Germany in the 15th century. The family mainly created bells and baptismal fonts and was active in the entire coastal area from East Friesland to Schleswig and Lüneburg . A total of 61 cast works emerged from the Klinghe workshop, many of which are still preserved.
Hinrich Klinghe took over some of his father's molds, so that his name appears in some works such as the baptismal font in Zeven . In his baptismal fonts, he attached greater importance to the architectural decorations, which are sculpted.
