Hofweiler is a part of the local community Welschbillig in the district of Trier-Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate .

location

The village is located in the southern Eifel in the Kylltal. In the north, east and south the place is surrounded by forests. The Kyll runs to the east . Neighboring towns are Daufenbach in the northeast , Kordel in the south, Welschbillig in the southwest and Ittel in the west .

history

Hofweiler was first mentioned in a document in 902. On December 31, 1975, the until then independent municipality was incorporated into Welschbillig.
