Hombressen is a village in the Kassel district in northern Hesse ( Germany ). With 1,647 inhabitants (as of 2015) it is the largest village district of Hofgeismar .

Geographical location

Hombressen is located on the western edge of the Reinhardswald about 5 km (as the crow flies ) east of Hofgeismar and is traversed in an east-west direction by the Lempe , into which Giesbach, Soode and Reinbecke flow in the village downstream ; The original place has developed like a scissor along these streams. Beberbeck is to the north-northeast , Carlsdorf to the west , Udenhausen to the south-south- east and the community-free Reinhardswald estate to the east .

history

Hombressen is first mentioned in a document around 1200 as Humpretissen , on the "Königsstraße" from Kassel to Helmarshausen. The place arises from 1455 as a village of the Grebenstein district . The Protestant village church was rebuilt from 1718, the tower of the church was only completed in 1753.

On December 31, 1970 Hombressen was incorporated into the city of Hofgeismar.

Hombressen won the “Dollste Village 2017” in the 2017 HR competition.
