He took over the program from Daniel Fischer, who had moderated it for 15 years and switched to hr3 . After just a few months, Fischer decided to return to FFH and initially moderated the afternoon program there. Without prior notice, Daniel Fischer and his old sidekick Julia Nestle took over the morning show on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. On April 28, Hoof and Gezer presented their last joint show.

FFH program director Hans-Dieter Hillmoth was heavily criticized by his fans for the decision to remove Hoof from the morning show . Numerous fans of Hoof stated on Facebook that they would boycott FFH in the future.

Hoof initially took a four-week break. At the end of this time he announced that he no longer wanted to moderate at FFH.

NDR 1 wave north

On Monday, September 4th, Hoof hosted his first program.

Horstigrams

Hoof already composed so-called "Horstigrams" at irregular intervals for Radio Hamburg, in which he satirically commented on current events. These horstigrams are usually accompanied by himself on the guitar. The "Horstigramme" have been preserved at Hit Radio FFH, but are no longer listed under this name.

Criticism because of HSV satire

When HSV was threatened with relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2012 , Hoof rewrote the stadium anthem Hamburg my pearl in a ridiculous version. In it he assumes that HSV has actually been relegated and at the same time expresses himself negatively about other clubs playing there. One line of text reads: “If you come from Aue , your parents are probably siblings. If you come from Dresden , we don't understand a word of your song. "

Both the clubs mentioned and the fans of HSV criticized Hoof heavily. A Facebook group that called for a boycott of the station was able to find up to 3,000 supporters at times. Here and in other social networks, Hoof was insulted in comments and sometimes threatened. As a result, the moderator was given personal protection. The broadcaster continued to play the repositioned hymn, however, and a message said that the program was not being determined by some fanatics. Only the line of text about the Erzgebirge Aue Association has been changed to "If you come from Aue, go hiking in the Erzgebirge."

Further criticism came from the original composer of the song Hamburg Meine Perle , the musician Lotto King Karl . He is the author and no permission to use the song has been obtained from him. Claims for damages were not enforced.

Hoof grew up in Asselheim near Grünstadt. He did his community service in Hamburg. He has been married to Inke Hoof since 2007. The couple has a dog named Mo and lives in Kiel.
