Axamer Lizum Chapel

Parson studied architecture at the Graz University of Technology from 1955 to 1960 . He then worked for Wilhelm Stigler in Innsbruck and opened his own office there in 1966, which he ran from 1988 to 1993 in partnership with Wolfgang Kritzinger and from 1993 to 2004 in partnership with Johannes Schmidt. From 1979 to 1991 he worked as a lecturer at the University of Innsbruck .

As one of his first works, he planned a chapel in Axamer Lizum , which was built for the 1964 Winter Olympics . This caused a sensation and Parson received further orders for church buildings, but also for single-family houses, residential complexes and office buildings throughout Tyrol. His buildings have clear structures, a high level of functionality and a high quality of daylight.

Parson was involved in over 20 exhibitions, received eleven first prizes in architecture competitions and was himself a judge in over 130 competitions. He worked as an urban planning advisor for Kufstein , Schwaz and Wörgl and as a member of the design advisory board for Linz , Wels and Steyr .
