Horst Schönfelder

Horst Schönfelder (born October 1, 1932 in Hammerbrücke ) is a German medic. In the GDR he was temporarily deputy minister for health care. He represented as a deputy the CDU in the Volkskammer and worked in the government de Maiziere as State Secretary in the Ministry of Health .

Life

After primary school, Schönfelder attended secondary school in Falkenstein in Vogtland from 1942 with interruptions until 1951 , from which he graduated with a high school diploma. He then received approval to study medicine at the FSU Jena , which he finished in 1956. This was followed by further training as a specialist in the Saalfeld hospitals and then an assignment at the Volksberg rural outpatient clinic , which he headed until the spring of 1959. During this time he was in September 1958 with the thesis problems of artificial lowering of blood pressure during surgery: Considering clinic's own experiences on the basis of 150 Hypotensionsanästhesien Dr. med. PhD. With the formation of the medical service of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1959, there was an increased need for doctors and so Schönfelder initially found a job as an inspection doctor at the Reichsbahninspektion Nordhausen in the Reichsbahndirektion Erfurt , which he held until 1965. During this time he completed his training as a general practitioner in 1962 . In 1960 he was also appointed as a member of the Society for Total Hygiene in the GDR. As a result, Schönfelder continued to develop into a traffic doctor and acquired special training in the areas of general and industrial hygiene. In 1965 Schönfelder moved to Schwerin , where he became director of the medical service of the Reichsbahndirektion Schwerin . In addition to the Schwerin district, this RBD also looked after parts of the Rostock, Potsdam and Magdeburg districts. In 1966 he became a member of the CDU and also a member of the Schwerin Railway District Union Management, of which he was a member until 1986. In 1971, his party presented him for the first time as a successor candidate for the People's Chamber, which took place in 1976. In this, the 7th electoral term, Schönfelder moved up in the summer of 1979 for the deceased CDU member Lothar Kolbe . Within the party, Schönfelder was first elected to the CDU district executive in Schwerin in 1968, of which he was a member until 1986. In the same year, as a GDR representative, he became a member of the Union Internationale des Service Medicaux des Chemin de Fer and its scientific coordinating committee. From 1976 to 1989 Schönfelder was a member of the working group for health and social affairs on the main CDU board. In 1979 he gained his qualification as a specialist in Social Hygiene , 1980, he was at the MLU Halle with the dissertation Rehabilitation injured at Deutsche Reichsbahn, shown in the results in a Directorate of Medical Service of transport of the German Democratic Republic to the Dr. sc. med. doctorate again. In the eighth and ninth electoral terms, Schönfelder was again a member of the People's Chamber as a member. From December 1980 and 1986 he was a member of the Health Care Committee.

With effect from March 1, 1986, Schönfelder was appointed as the successor to Ulrich Schneidewind, who had moved up to become State Secretary, as Deputy Minister for Health Care of the GDR. Within the ministry, he was responsible for the areas of hygiene and social affairs. After the 16th party congress of the CDU in October 1987, Schönfelder was elected to the presidium of the main board of the CDU. At the time of the political change, he received on November 10, 1989 at a meeting of the main board of the CDU, at which Lothar de Maiziere was also elected a new party chairman, again the trust as a member of the executive board. He also retained his government office, now as State Secretary, in the Modrow government . In the de Maiziere government, Schönfelder was again State Secretary in the Ministry of Health until October 2, 1990.

When the German-African Society e. V. on May 19, 1990 he was elected President of the Society.
