Hussar Regiment "Török"

The "Török" hussar regiment was a cavalry unit that was established in 1756 as a palatinal hussar for the imperial Habsburg army . In 1769 the regiment was given the name Cavalry Regiment No. 36 in the cavalry ranking. The regiment was disbanded in 1775. The following numbering was subsequently introduced for the system: 1756/2 (to Ticino ), Hussar Regiment H 10 (to Bleckwenn ).

In the 17th and 18th centuries regiments only carried the name of the regiment holder .

Establishment and changes

  • 1756 was headed by the Palatine Count Batthyányi from the Jazygiern and Kumaniern districts and the outlaws towns are home at his own expense a hussar - regiment set up with a staff strength of 1,000 men (600 Jazygier and Kumanier and 400 outlaws) and adopted duration of the war in imperial meals .

Battle calendar

Seven Years War

  • 1757 Relocated to the theater of war in Bohemia , the regiment took part in the expedition to Berlin .
  • 1758 In the Association of the Imperial Army. Participation in the battle near Sankt Sebastiansberg . The regiment was later detached to cover the siege of the Sonnenstein fortress on the Bohemian border.

  • 1761 The regiment suffered heavy losses in the battle near Augustenburg on November 5th and was then involved in some smaller operations, such as near Matzdorf.
