"Hadik" hussar regiment

The regiment was a cavalry unit that was established in 1734 as Ghilanyi hussars for the imperial Habsburg army . In the 17th and 18th centuries regiments only carried the name of the regiment chief . The regiment was disbanded in 1768. The following numbering was subsequently introduced for the system: 1734/1 (to Ticino ), Hussar Regiment H 12 (to Bleckwenn ).

Establishment and changes

  • According to the capitulation of October 30, 1734, the regiment was set up by Colonel Johann Freiherr von Ghilányi. Four of these companies at their own expense, the rest against receipt of advertising money.
  • In 1748 parts of the disbanded hussar regiment "Trips" were incorporated.
  • In 1768 the regiment was disbanded again. The squadrons were divided into the hussar regiments No. 1 , No. 2 , No. 3 , No. 6 , No. 8 and No. 10 .

War of the Polish Succession

  • 1735: after completion of the formation, the regiment moved to the Mosel Corps on the Rhine and fought in the battle near Klausen

Russo-Austrian Turkish War (1736–1739)

War of the Austrian Succession

  • 1741 command to Silesia . Fight in the Battle of Mollwitz . Later relocation to Bohemia
  • 1742 Fighting in the Lobkowitz corps near Sahaj and during the siege of Prague
  • 1743 Detached to Bavaria, the unit fought in the battle near Simbach , then initially relocated to the Rhine and later participated in the battles near Landshut and Esslingen
  • 1744 Battles near Lauterburg, Nordheim and Moldauthein
  • 1745 Skirmish near Reich-Hennersdorf and participation in the battles near Hohenfriedberg and Soor (Trautenau)
  • In 1746 the regiment was transferred to the Netherlands . Three squadrons fought in battle at Mont-Saint-André, the rest of the regiment in battle at Rocour

  • 1765 Fur hat with different colored sacks of cloth, dark blue fur and dolman , dark blue trousers, white olives
  • 1767 fur hat with red sackcloth, dark blue fur and dolman , white lapels , dark blue trousers, white olives
  • Under the owner Count Hadik, the regiment is said to have worn red trousers.
