Hyŏngjesan-guyŏk is one of the 18 boroughs of Pyongyang , the capital of North Korea . It is located north of the city center and borders the Sunan-guyŏk district to the north and Ryongsŏng-guyŏk to the east . South are the districts Pot'onggang-guyŏk and Mangyŏngdae-guyŏk , southeast Sŏs südng-guyŏk .
In the south of the district is Mount Jesan.
Hyŏngjesan-guyŏk was set up as a municipality in October 1960 with several administrative units belonging to Taedong-gun County.
Buildings and facilities
In the district of Sangdang-dong, the Korean Film Studio, founded in 1947, is located on an area of about one square kilometer with recreated street scenes from various countries.
In the village of Haksan-ri there is a cemetery for the soldiers of North Korea and the People's Republic of China who perished in the Korean War, with a separate area for members of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.

The "Fold valley of west Pyongyang" in the district of Chungdang-ri is listed under the natural monuments of North Korea with the sort number 23.
Administrative division
Hyŏngjesan-guyŏk is divided into 15 administrative units, the dongs . The district of Hadang-dong is in turn divided into two, the districts of Singan-dong and Sopo-dong into three administrative units each.
