Sŭngho-guyŏk is a district in the North Korean province of Hwanghae-pukto . Until 2010 it was a municipality of Pyongyang .

The district lies between the fork of Taedong-gang and Nam. It borders the Samsŏk-guyŏk district to the north, the Kangdong-gun district to the east, and Sangwŏn-gun and Sadong-guyŏk to the south .

history

Sŭngho-guyŏk was established as a borough of Pyongyang in September 1959 and spun off again in 2010. According to South Korean human rights organizations, the outsourcing of Sŭngho-guyŏk was due to food shortages. The population of the capital should have been reduced with the reallocation in order to be able to adequately supply at least the people in the inner city area in the event of delivery bottlenecks.

Administrative division

Sŭngho-guyŏk is divided into 12 administrative units. The district Sŭngho is in turn divided into two administrative units.
