Samsŏk-guyŏk is one of the 18 boroughs of Pyongyang , the capital of North Korea . It borders P'yŏngsŏng to the north, Taedong-gang and Sŭngho-guyŏk district on the opposite bank to the south, and Taesŏng-guyŏk , Ryongsŏng-guyŏk and Ŭnjŏng-guyŏk districts to the west .
Samsŏk-guyŏk was established as a municipality in September 1959.

In the district of Honam-ri there is the tomb of the four deities , the national treasure of North Korea with the number 26.
Natural monuments
The softshell turtles in the Honam-ri district are listed at number 24 among the natural monuments in North Korea.
