IC 1130 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Serpens north of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 615 million light years from the Milky Way . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5962 , NGC 5972 , NGC 5977 .
The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on May 29, 1889 .
