IC 3289 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 142 million light years from the Milky Way and approximately 45,000 light years across.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on January 1, 1898 .
