IC 3305 is a spiral dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 104 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 35,000 ly. The galaxy is listed as a member of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster under catalog number VCC 786 .
The galaxies NGC 4371 , IC 3291 , IC 3311 , IC 3331 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
