NGC 4371 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 37 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 45,000 ly. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 759 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .

The object was discovered on March 15, 1784 by the German-British astronomer William Herschel .
