NGC 4373 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type I / SB0 in the constellation Centaurus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 144 million light years from the Milky Way and about 160,000 light years in diameter. Together with IC 3290 it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair.
The galaxies IC 3370 , PGC 40549 , PGC 40735 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The object was discovered by John Herschel on June 8, 1834 .
