NGC 4366 is an elliptical dwarf galaxy from the Hubble type de6 in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is an estimated 54 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 15,000 ly. Under the designation VCC 745 , it is considered a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4341 , NGC 4365 , NGC 4370 , IC 3259 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on April 13, 1784 .
