NGC 4359 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is around 56 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 60,000 light years . Together with 18 other galaxies, it forms the NGC 4274 group ( LGG 279 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4414 and IC 3330 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 20, 1787 .
