NGC 4358 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Ursa Major in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 205 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 60,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4290 , NGC 4335 , NGC 4362 , NGC 4364 , among others .
The object was discovered on April 17, 1789 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
