IC 3909 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 792 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 3897 , IC 3920 , IC 3928 , IC 3945 .

The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
