IC 4266 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is about 710 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 4268 , IC 4269 , IC 4271-1 and IC 4271-2 .
The object was discovered on July 10, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
