IC 4248 is a spiral galaxy, dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 177 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5135 , NGC 5150 , NGC 5152 , NGC 5153 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 4, 1904 .
