IC 4230 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa Coma Berenices in the constellation of the northern sky . It is an estimated 326 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5116 , IC 4234 , IC 4241 , IC 4244 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 11, 1895 .
