IC 4225 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 245 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 70,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5074 , NGC 5127 , IC 4226 , IC 4227 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on June 6, 1896 .
