IC 4218 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 256 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 5095 and IC 4224 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in July 1899 .
