IC 4224 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type scd? in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 244 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 65,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5095 , IC 4218 , IC 4229 .
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in July 1899 .
