NGC 5095 is a 13.8 mag bright, lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 255 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 4218 , IC 4224 , IC 4229 .
The object was discovered on April 15, 1828 by John Herschel .
