NGC 5099 is a 14.3 likes bright elliptical dwarf galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 55 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 10,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5079 , NGC 5088 , NGC 5105 , NGC 5110 .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on June 3, 1886 .
