NGC 5081 is a 13.6 likes bright barred spiral galaxy of Hubble type SBb in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is an estimated 298 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 195,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on April 19, 1865 .
