NGC 5059 is a 14.9 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Virgo to the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 653 million light years from the Milky Way and about 175,000 light years across.

The object was discovered by Albert Marth on March 25, 1865 .
